Synthetix ("we", "us", "our") operates the Synthetix app and website at https://synthetixworld.com, an interactive platform where you chat with expressive, human-like AI avatars. By creating an account, subscribing or using the service, you accept these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Synthetix.
Synthetix lets you create AI companions, customise their personality and appearance, and chat with them by text and voice. Every companion is a virtual character generated by artificial intelligence, not a real person. Responses, images, speech and video are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or fictional. Synthetix does not provide professional medical, legal, financial or psychological advice, and nothing in the service should be relied on as such.
You must be 18 years or older to create an account or subscribe. You agree to give accurate account details, to keep your login credentials secure, and to accept responsibility for all activity that takes place under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Synthetix Premium costs R169 per month, billed in advance through PayFast, our payment provider. Payment is collected securely by PayFast; Synthetix never sees or stores your full card details. Your subscription starts once your first payment is confirmed and renews automatically each month until you cancel it. All fees are shown in South African Rand and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We may change our prices; if we do, we will notify you before the change applies to your next billing date and you may cancel first.
You may cancel your subscription at any time by emailing support@synthetixworld.com from the email address on your account, and you can also instruct PayFast to stop the recurring debit. We process cancellation requests within 1–2 business days and confirm by email. Cancelling stops all future charges and you keep Premium access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Unless a refund applies under our Refund & Cancellation Policy, payments already made are not refunded for unused days.
You agree not to use Synthetix to create or share illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, defamatory or otherwise abusive content; to impersonate a real person without their consent; to infringe anyone’s intellectual property; to attempt to access accounts or systems you are not authorised to use; or to overload, scrape, reverse engineer or otherwise interfere with the service. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
The messages you write, the avatars you create and the files you upload remain yours. To operate the service you give us a limited licence to store, process and transmit that content for the purposes of running your chats, generating replies, speech, images and video, keeping your avatar’s memory and providing support. You confirm that you have the rights to anything you upload, including voice recordings and photos.
The Synthetix name, logo, interface, code and AI companion library are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied, resold or redistributed without our written permission.
Synthetix relies on third parties to deliver parts of the service, including PayFast for payments and AI providers for language, speech, image and video generation. Their own terms may also apply to those parts of the service.
We work to keep Synthetix available and improving, but we may add, change, pause or discontinue features at any time, and we cannot guarantee the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Scheduled maintenance and outages may temporarily limit access.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss arising from your reliance on AI-generated content. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the South African Consumer Protection Act.
You may stop using Synthetix and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if your payment fails and is not resolved. On termination your right to use the service ends, and we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and disputes will be handled by the courts of South Africa. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Synthetix after a change means you accept the updated terms.
